Caramelized Apple🍏
Ingredients
1 granny smith apple
2 tbs of brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp of vanilla
A pinch of nutmeg
A pinch of salt
1 teaspoon cornstarch
¼ cup water
Peel and cut apple into ¼” slices. Mix sugar, spices, and vanilla in a small bowl and set aside. In another small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in ¼ cup of water and set aside. Combine cornstarch and spice mix, set aside.
Melt butter in a sauce pan over medium heat. Add apple to the pan and sauté until almost tender stirring constantly, about 7-8 minutes.
Add the cornstarch and spice mixture to the pan and allow to boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Take off the heat and added to your favorite dessert.
I added the caramelized apples on top of funnel cakes, but you can add it to pancakes, waffles, or ice-cream!
You can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
Enjoy!🍏
